Projects

Since opening in November 2010 we have been working hard to achieve our goal of offering an open arts and crafts facility for our local community. Thanks to our loyal supporters who attend our workshop and events we have already been able to start offering free or heavily subsidised workshops and facilities in the past few months.

By providing a christmas card making workshops for the parents and toddlers group at our local school, St Johns, hosting a free sewing lesson for the Sure Start Childrens Centre in Mile End, undertaking a skill swap session with a local ESOL group and free painting lessons for individuals from MIND, we have been able to re-invest the materials, equipment and time which has been so kindly donated to us back into our neighbourhood.

By initiating free craft sessions every Wednesday morning, offering volunteer advice and free materials, we hope to build new social groups within the area. At present these have been centered around knitting and crochet however this is set to extend to sewing, calligraphy and badge making in the near future.
